Slice of life

Do you ever wonder what your life has become?

I mean, have you found yourself in a situation, or a routine that surprises you when you stand back and look at it?

It's midnight, and here I am... in Calgary (who could have predicted that one year ago)
... counting my tips from the bartending gig (I've always wanted to bartend)
... watching Coronation Street (I started watching for the cute gay character, now I'm hooked).

I guess all I'm trying to say is, you never know where you're going to end up, and taking pleasure in the surprises and new ideas, and new challenges and new people is fun. So far it's fun.

Gigging news: I've secured a job as Assistant Stage Manager on the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show. It's two and a half months of full time work. The "Young Canadians" Grandstand Show is apparently the largest outdoor show in the world.

I may also have some tough desicions to make in regards to other job opportunities in the near future. Does the phrase "be careful what you wish for" mean anything?

Here's a tangeant: do you think some kid has ever thought it would be cool to lose a hand or a limb in an accident because of those War Amps commercials that show happy successful kids with cool hockey stick attachments for their prosthetic limbs? I dunno, it looks kind of cool to me.

By reading the comment above you can witness first hand the sheer dirty mindedness that Toronto has to offer.

God I miss it.
